Contraindications of the high-protein diet NEWDIET®

The NEWDIET® high-protein diet is a very safe way to reduce weight for otherwise healthy people. Even so, there are several diseases or conditions that do not allow one to use it. In particular, those are the following:

  • Pregnancy, lactation
  • Diabetes
  • Being a child (the diet is intended for adults only)
  • Severe psychiatric disorders, primarily those involving eating disorders (mental anorexia)
  • Liver diseases
  • Kidney diseases
  • Heart diseases
  • Disorders related to minerals in the body
  • Blood clotting disorders (including patients on warfarin)
  • Gallstones
  • Metabolic disorders (for example phenylketonuria, gout and others)
  • Allergy to any component of the diet (always read the information leaflet as it contains detailed information on the contained food allergens)
